Sporting Aims and Provision

The National Curriculum highlights four strands in PE:

  1. Acquiring and developing skills
  2. Selecting and applying skills, tactics and compositional ideas
  3. Evaluating and improving performance
  4. Knowledge and understanding of health and fitness

Through PE pupils learn how to plan, perform and evaluate their work, enabling them to improve their quality and effectiveness. Through this process, they discover their aptitude, abilities and preferences and how to make choices about getting involved in life long physical activities.

The whole school attends Bedale Swimming pool for regular swimming lessons and children take part in Bedale Cluster sporting activities as well as inter-school competitions.
